    Valdosta State University Athletics

    Valdosta State University is an NCAA Division II school, with football, cross-country, basketball, baseball, golf, and tennis for men and basketball, cross-country, softball, tennis, and volleyball for women. The team nickname is the Blazers. Valdosta State University competes within the Gulf South Conference. There is a cheerleading squad and a dance team.

    Facilities include a baseball field, a soccer field, a softball field, tennis courts, and a football field.

    The Valdosta State Blazers compete in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference. Men’s intercollegiate sports include football, cross country, basketball, tennis, baseball, and golf. Women’s intercollegiate sports include cross country, basketball, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Valdosta State football ranked second in the southeast region of Division II in 2004 with a record of 9-1. Valdosta also will participate in the 2005 Baseball Championship in Montgomery, Alabama.
